“Helping Pupils learn through curiosity” Mary Myatt

At Winscombe Primary School we use an enquiry approach to teaching Science. We encourage and engage the children to become curious learners by inviting them to think like scientists. As they progress through the years we develop their understanding of working scientifically and how they can conduct fair tests to find answers to their own hypothesis. Science is taught with a hands on approach and encouraging the children to explain why things happen the way they do. We provide the children with the full coverage of the science curriculum and the curiosity to want to develop their independent learning.

We use Developing experts to support our teaching and learning in science with explorify to develop scientific thinking. Here are some useful websites to help support science and your understanding of it.
