John is a father to three daughters (all now at college, in university or in work following university).

John has been a school governor at various schools for over 17 years now, following his children through their education and now supporting local schools as a co-opted governor.  He has been a chair of governors and has supported new schools in developing new governors when forming new governing bodies.

John have a couple of jobs that include managing a department at Weston College; working with adult learners and supporting them back into employment; delivering courses that cover employability, self-development, Maths, English and IT.  He also has his own training company that specialises in training school governors and in areas such as Customer Service and Sales.

In my spare time John enjoy:

• History, reading historic novels and visiting places of interest through the National Trust
• Football, playing 5-aside and 11 a-side football and supporting Bristol City and Spurs
• Scuba Diving, John is a Master Scuba Diver and enjoy diving in both the UK and abroad
• Skiing, trying to get at least 1 weeks away skiing a year
• Motorcycling, John has a Suzuki SV650 and trys to use it as much as possible, weather permitting
• Being a school governor.
