Phase 1 Phonics Resources (Listening Games)

Phase 1 is so important for a variety of reasons! The main benefit of this part of phonics is that it develops children's speaking and listening skills which then lays the foundations for the phonic work in Phase 2. The emphasis during Phase 1 is to get children attuned to the sounds around them and ready to begin developing oral blending and segmenting skills.

In Phase 2, children begin to learn the sounds that make letters (phonemes). We have now finished Phase 2 so please refer to your phonics booklet to help practice your phonics sounds and actions at home.
