Writing your Persuasive Text
Having researched and planned your ideas, you are now ready to write your persuasive text.
Take another look at the 'What A Good One Looks Like' example I gave you to look at two weeks ago to help you.
Refer to the word map below for helpful vocabulary and sentence starters.
If you have already written one, make sure you proof read and edit it. You may wish to improve it by adding in words or phrases from the word map below.
Happy writing!

Persuasive Writing - 3 week unit
Should animals be kept in zoos?
Week 1
Research the pros and cons of animals being kept in zoos. What do you think? Should they or shouldn't they? Make up your own mind about if you agree or disagree. Can you explain why you think that? Talk to others. Do they agree with you? If they don't, try to persuade them!
I have provided one link to a website but Parent/Carers - please be mindful of age appropriate websites when doing further research as this is an emotive subject.

Writing
Tell me about the rainforest creature you have designed.
Write a fact file or a non-chronological report telling me all about your creature. Use subheadings - for example: the name of your creature, where it lives (habitat), what it eats (diet), their appearance (description), interesting features and fascinating facts. Think about how you can interest your reader with your introduction. I look forward to reading your reports and learning about your new species of creature.
