Hello Year 4,

Our last week of term has arrived. Where has the time gone?! You have all worked EXTREMELY hard in lockdown and I have to say you have made it to the finish line.

You are all absolute SUPERSTARS and I know how much effort and time you have put into making sure your learning continues so that you are all ready for September.

The home learning bingo includes some maths and to finish off you art project. Aside from that, I have included some Summer activities and crafts as well as another Tik Tok Challenge.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday at our move up day. To Bram and Silas - you will be dearly missed and I have included a special shout out to the both of you wishing the best of luck for your future adventures. You both will become extraordinary stars in the future and cannot wait to see what your future holds!

Take care Year 4 and see you soon! :)

Best wishes,

Miss V x

WELCOME LEAFLET YEAR 4

Raise the Roof Festival (Year 3 and 4)

A huge thank you to the PTFA who helped organise our WOW day for our Ancient Egyptians topic. Egyptologist, Ali Ball, arrived at Winscombe with a large trunk and lots of treasures to behold. We explored the Egyptian number system to start off with, followed by becoming historians ourselves and investigating different artefacts. Later in the day, we created our own Egyptian cartouche with hieroglyphs and played dress up, praying to the Pharaoh and Queen in Ancient Egyptian. Exciting! We lastly created our own Egyptian monsters and heard some gruesome tales along the way.

Our costumes were spectacular and no doubt we will be joined by Ali again soon!

Poetry recital

We immersed ourselves in a two week project about the devastating impact that human effects are having on our planet. We investigated the use of plastic and learnt about global warming and its impacts on the rising sea levels. Our poetry recital was about extreme weather. Can you guess which weather pattern our poem is about?
