Winscombe Primary School

Class 4

Welcome to Year 4

Class Teacher -  Mrs Axton

LSAs - Mrs Horwood and Mrs Griffin

PPA Teachers - Mrs Mistry, Mrs Worthy and Mrs Harding

We are really looking forward to our Summer Term and learning all about our local areas - wonderful Winscombe and Weston-super-Mare!  We have lots planned and will be enjoying the outdoors to explore our Science and Geography too.

We have really enjoyed making our own versions of the Egyptian game Mehen. It was fun to play too.

We think our mummification was a success...

We have really enjoyed investigating electrical circuits.

WOW! What a wonderful day and don’t we look amazing? We made pyramids and created the most beautiful Egyptian Headdresses.

Merry Christmas to all our friends and teachers at Winscombe from Class 4!

Magnificent Mummification (of a tomato!)

Raise the Roof - we had a lovely time with Ms Clough helping us with our songs. The ABBA finale was great fun!

Five to Thrive - Getting Active with Jo Wicks

Our Egyptian Dance Workshop with Vicki Rees from Churchill School.

Some great moves!

In science we are learning all about the digestive system. We had a visit from Tess who is a Dental Nurse. We learnt all about our teeth (the first stage in our digestive system) and how to look after them.

We have enjoyed a wonderful WOW Day with Ali Ball, an Egyptologist. We looked at Egyptian artefacts, learnt hieroglyphics, made Heart Scarabs and even did a bit of mummification.

What a Wonderful World

As part of our recovery curriculum we have written our own version of 'What a Wonderful World'. We took our inspiration from David Attenborough's Planet Earth clip and the music of Louis Armstrong.
